240 BUYERS FOR TRAVEL EXPO

AFTER successfully hosting the just ended Harare International Carnival, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority now shifts attention to the Sanganai/Hlanganani – World Travel Expo slated for Bulawayo later this month.

Now in its 10th edition, this year’s event runs from September 28 to October 1 under the theme: “Africa’s Premier Business” Expo with over 200 international buyers set to take part in the event.

ZTA Head of Corporate Affairs Sugar Chagonda told H-Metro they expected international buyers from as far as the United Kingdom, Germany among other foreign countries.

“A total of 240 international buyers have confirmed with us and we also expected 335 exhibitors, 22 being foreigners.

“The venue of the expo is the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Groups where we expect stands in various categories such as airlines, tourism sectors, accommodation among other sectors,” said Chagonda.

• HEALTH EXPO
Unlike previous editions, Chagonda said they will also cater for the health sector at this year’s edition.

“We are also going to hold Health Expo with players from companies such as Cimas, CellMed, and Seventh Day Adventist set to take part during the expo.

“During the expo, we are also going regular and basic medical being offered freely during the expo,” said Chagonda.

• WORKSHOPS
The ZTA communication boss said they have also lined workshops during the expo to ensure that Sanganai/Hlanganani becomes Africa’s premiere business exchange.

“In line with our theme for this year’s edition, we are going to host workshops with international buyers.

“We have also put in place business to business forums for the benefit of participants at this year’s edition.”

Meanwhile, Chagonda said they will also launch the expo on September 27, the World Tourism Day.
This year’s travel expo will then get into full swing on September 28 in the City of Kings.
