‘AFRICA KNOWS JAH PRAYZAH’
26 May 2017
MUSICIAN Jah Prayzah has achieved a rare feat in showbiz and Africa now knows him pretty well, his handlers say.
Such is the 29-year-old’s fairy tale that he has decided to go full circle engaging some of Africa’s household names of his generation to make it to the top, according to his management.
Speaking to H-Metro on the sidelines of the recently held Time & Jazz Winter Festival where he lit up the stage on day two of the jazz fete, his manager Keen Mushapaidze saluted the crooner for his true musicianship.
“It’s no doubt that Africa now knows him, Africa is talking about him,” said Mushapaidze who believes the crooner has met part of his goals.
“If you have a good product, it’s not difficult to push it as is the case with us.
“After dominating at home, we decided to raise awareness and market our brand across Africa.
“Right now, Africa knows us and we will continue pushing till we make it on the international market i.e. Europe, America and Asia.”
Mushapaidze reckons it took them a lot of sacrifice for Jah Prayzah to make an impact in Africa.
“The boys have been working hard and as management, we are playing our part. Locally, we are pushing for more events like these (Time & Jazz Winter Festival).
“After this show, we are now focusing on the next stage and ensure we conquer at a global stage.”
The manager concedes they have also been starving local fans of musical shows as they used to do before their brand grew.
“It’s true that we are no longer available locally 365 days a year as we used to be over the years.
“It’s common in our traditional set up that at one stage when a child has grown up, they will leave their parents to start something of their own.
“However, this does not mean they would have forsaken their roots.
“In our cases, we are pushing a number of collaborations as we are also marketing our projects beyond Zimbabwe.
“We will never forget our fans; in fact our fans have taken us to where we are right now.
“We still owe it to our fans and that’s why we want to give them quality stuff they will cherish for years,” he added.
For the greater part of last year to date, Jah Prayzah has been working on a number of collaborations with some of the continent’s finest.
This initiative has seen him set the bar, which the majority of the artistes of his generation on home soil have failed to surpass.
He made his breakthrough on the African continent and even beyond with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz.
Afterwards, he engaged top South African pop outfit – Mafikizolo – on the track Sendekera.
Later in the year, Jah Prayzah is set to hold a massive concert with some of Africa’s finest crooners.
Dubbed Kings of Africa, the show will be held later this year; thanks to 2 Kings Entertainment should all go according to plan.
The initiative will also pave way for collaborations among the trio.
In short, Jah Prayzah’s career continues to burn a trail of success with each passing project.
