All eyes on BOFOZ
8 September 2017
BLACK Opal Face of Zimbabwe (BOFOZ) 2017 is kicking it up a notch with a high class venue for their September 30 competition.
Eleven beauties will be battling it out at Zimbali Glass House for the prestigious Miss BOFOZ 2017 title and all that it comes with.
The competition, which will be running under the theme “All Eyes on Me”, has been consistent over the years and continues to attract attention from Zimbabwean women as it does not have age and size restrictions.
BOFOZ project director Tanaka Ngorora said they will be providing a more intimate and up-market setting as they re-stage from Black opal to BLK/OPL in an effort to keep up with trends and stay relevant.
“The competition grows year on year with different input from public and private.
“We cannot put a cost or price on the feel good factor the promotion gives to our brand.
“Our project team is amazing, we have an even more amazing customer base and further more the contestants each year have been a pleasure to work with,” Ngorora told H-Metro.
Winky D and STAVO will be headlining the event and the girls are also preparing a performance for those who will attend.
The queens in the making went for a boot camp in July and the black tie finals will see the reigning title holder Hazvinei Chiota sign off with a US$1000 donation to a charity of her choice with BLK/OPL’s help.
Hazvinei is said to have executed her duties exceptionally well and the same is expected from the next Queen and brand ambassador.
“She has been true to the brand at events and in her modeling shoots for clothing retailer Edgars who we have been working closely with.
“BOFOZ is an experiential marketing campaign that has successfully been able to seek and find your ordinary woman or girl next door representing the international brand.
“Duties acquired upon crowning include being the brand ambassador, doing in-store activations, testimonials, judging other pageants and being guest of honor at functions,” Ngorora said.
BLK/OPL has partnered with Edgars, Telone, Zimbali, Tanaka said preparations are going smoothly and everything is coming together like clockwork.
