Andy Muridzo band members boycott show?

Musician Andy Muridzo is on the verge of losing his entire band if he doesn’t respond to an ultimatum to pay outstanding allowances.
Reports say the crooner has failed to pay his band members for the past few months and on Saturday they boycotted a show in Bindura.
The Dherira hit-maker is also being accused of diverting the income to own use with reports pointing at his recent lobola payment for his wife Mai Keketso on Christmas Day.
H-Metro spoke to some of the disgruntled Jeetaz Band members who had no kind words for their youthful boss.
“We boycotted the Bindura show because zvanyanya, can you imagine we spent the whole festive season without our allowances.
“We told Andy that he should attend the show alone and we will not perform again unless he pays us,” said one of the band members who preferred anonymity.
“We were quiet for a long time but got hurt more when we heard he was going to pay lobola for his wife on Christmas Day when he used to tell us that there was no money.
“But now we are getting new bookings why has he failed to pay us a single cent,” added the band member.
The camp is also accusing their manager, Gift Petro, of neglect.
“Our manager has been neglecting us, he is not addressing the issue ukamubvunza anokutuka or your number gets blocked on his mobile phone.
“We are owed more than two months’ salary and most of the times we have been getting nothing after performing at joints far from Harare.
“His approach in all this is questionable and we are surprised with how he is treating this whole issue when he should be on our side,” said another member.
Contacted for comment Andy Muridzo’s manager dismissed the reports.
“We only had a meeting with the band on Saturday and it’s not true that they boycotted the show, it was called off due to an electrical fault.
“The meeting was to map the way forward for them and plan for the year, we also discussed their outstanding allowances which we agreed to pay soon.
“There is nothing new these things happen all the time, we only owe them allowances for two Chitungwiza shows and we have not refused to pay them,” said Gift Petro.
Petro also rubbished reports that Andy diverted income to pay lobola.
“Yes Andy went and paid lobola for his wife but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have his own money.
“He is a man and he has other dealings, whoever contacted you mustn’t stick their nose where it doesn’t belong,” he argued.
Meanwhile, Andy Muridzo has begun working on his forthcoming album.
