Andy relishes defining moment
3 May 2018
AFTER accepting the blame for his battered image and bruised ego owing to offstage antics, Andy Muridzo has shifted focus to his album launch slated for Club 1+1 this Friday.
He feels this is the only way he can move on and be counted among the stars.
Despite the launch of fourth album – Munondo – coinciding with Hifa 2018, his camp believes their fans won’t betray them.
And basing on the support fellow artistes have been giving him, Andy Muridzo’s handlers are confident the launch will be a resounding success.
These include Gary Tight, Progress Chipfumo, Mbeu, Carlos Green, Faith Candy, Mangwenya, Baba Harare, Agga Nyabinde, Trevor Dongo Senator and Kinnah among others.
As for the album, it carries 15 tracks namely Munondo the title track, Madhuve, Mamimo, Mudzepete, Gweja, Petunia, Tiri Veumambo featuring Sam Dondo, Maidei, Kuya Mweya, Chigure, Tsivo, Njerekunje, My Know, Huya Mwena, Zviera Era among others.
However, it should be mentioned that it is the support that Andy Muridzo has been receiving from various stakeholders during the build up to the event, which is likely to make his launch a success.
“If you have been following social networks, it’s now evident that Andy Muridzo gets well along with other artistes.
“He has made his public appeal for a second chance and fellow artistes are the once who decided to show him love first.
“Now that fellow artistes have showed him love by posting their promotional videos ahead of the launch, there is no way Andy will easily fail to take note of their support,” said the singer’s most trusted lieutenant and manager, Gift Petro.
“Some of the artistes have even cancelled their shows to be with us while others will have to proceed after gracing our event.
“This is the kind of support we have been yearning for over the years.
“As it stands, we are glad with the support we have been receiving and it’s up to Andy to show fans he has truly repented.”
To show Andy has reformed and now runs his affairs professionally, Petro added:
“Like we indicated earlier this week, we now have proper structures and we now have communication channels.
“We won’t allow him to make reckless statements in press and if there is need for that, it is management’s job to do so.
“When he is caught offside, we will summon him before the management but we don’t expect that since we are on a serious rebranding exercise.
“It has always been his wish that his affairs are run by competent people and that’s why we came on board to change the game.”
