THE countdown is over and the fun is on this Saturday!

Top Jamaican chanter Beenie Man  touched down at the Harare International Airport on Thursday evening  and promised yet another polished act set to remain engraved in the minds of many for a while.

The 44-year-old, who arrived along with his band members, will headline the inaugural SpringFest slated for Alex Sports Club on Saturday.

So excited were fans who met him at the arrivals terminal as they requested for acapella versions of Beenie Man’s popular songs.

The Jamaican chanter, who is visiting our shores for the second time years after enthralling fans at the Lion Lager Festival in 2010, promises yet another energy-sapping act.

This show is also special for the Girls Dem Sugar singer as the chanter celebrates 33 years in showbiz and 25 years as the king of dancehall in his native.

On Tuesday, he also turned 44 and he decided to take the celebrations to Zimbabwe.

He will be supported by local Jah Prayzah, Winky D, Cindy Munyavi, Queen Vee, top dancehall/reggae sound Judgement Yard along with Rax the DJ, Raydizz, Juice and Selecta, thanks to 2 Kings Entertainment.

As we revealed last week, a ‘battle of bands’ is guaranteed when top performers Winky D and Jah Prayzah take to the stage.

While all the attention would be on Beenie Man, it should be mentioned that Cindy Munyavi and Queen Vee won’t be out to add numbers.

To ensure fans get real value for their money, Dee Nosh of 2 Kings Entertainment say roped in a star-studded line-up to support the Jamaican chanter.

Preparation wise, D-Nosh said they were not bothered by what other promoters are doing since Saturday is the busiest day on the entertainment calendar.

The show starts around 3pm till very late and gates will be opened around mid-morning.
