Boy (4) killed over soiled pants?
18 November 2016
A 28-YEAR-OLD Mbare man who is facing allegations of beating up his domestic worker’s four year-old son after he soiled his pants leading to his death has been granted US$50 bail at the High Court.
Terence Chipungu was not asked to plead when he appeared before Mbare magistrate Stanford Mambanje facing murder charges.
He was granted US$50 bail and the matter will be heard on December 1 as investigations proceed.
Circumstances leading to Chipungu’s arrest are that on November 14, the deceased soiled his pants while he was eating supper.
It is said Chipunga who had not yet started eating went outside and took a swish from a peaches tree.
When he came back, Chipungu assaulted the boy all over his body and he told his mother to take him to the bathroom.
After a bath, as the boy was walking into the dining room, he fell on his back and started to have difficulties in breathing and his mother, who was already in the kitchen, was notified.
Chipungu noticed an unusual behaviour on the boy and he suggested they take him to the clinic.
The deceased was taken to 24 Hour Clinic which is nearby and was pronounced dead on arrival.
Hilda Munaku-Huni appeared for the State.
