Charged for killing workmate

A bakery employee appeared in court facing allegations killing his workmate after he started a machine which squashed him to death.
Tafadzwa Guta, of Budiriro 5B, Harare appeared at the Harare magistrates’ court charged with culpable homicide.
He is accused squeezing David Chigiji between two machines leading to his death.
Guta was not asked to plead to the charges when he appeared before magistrate Bianca Makwande, who remanded him out of custody to November 24 on US$50 bail.
The State led by Sebastian Mutizirwa had it that on October 23 this year the two were at their workplace when Guta pressed the button of the dough muscle bowel machine.
It is said that the machine moved and squashed David against a hopper machine resulting in his death.
Chigiji reportedly screamed for help but Guta is said to have watched helplessly until his workmate’s death.
He was arrested and taken to court charged with culpable homicide.
