‘CHIHORO WAS NEVER FIRED’
10 May 2018
DYNAMOS president Kenny Mubaiwa says team manager Richard Chihoro was always in their structures, dismissing claims the manager was fired.
He told H-Metro that Chihoro’s absence was just a disciplinary process.
“What happened was just a disciplinary action. Chihoro was never fired, letting him go was just our way of making him realise his mistake and learn from his experiences away from DeMbare,” Mubaiwa said.
The club president’s statements come at a time when it is known that Chihoro was pushed out as he was not part of former coach Lloyd Mutasa’s preferred backroom.
However, DeMbare are on record saying he had been re-assigned but effectively frozen out, giving rise that there could have been a clash that left Chihoro in the cold.
“The manager did something wrong and it did not go well with the executive and something had to be done,” Mubaiwa said.
The Glamour Boys’ president however refused to give further details on Chihoro’s case, insisting it was an in-house issue.
“Unfortunately we cannot disclose much information about our issues with Chihoro.
“We never replaced him because we knew he was going to come back in our structures.
“Even if things were smooth at DeMbare, we were still going to call him back to work,” Mubaiwa said.
Chihoro has since started work as manager again after a reshuffle of the technical team that has seen Biggie Zuze taking over.
