Chihuri engages Pastor Charamba
30 October 2017
COMMISSIONER General of Police Dr Augustine Chihuri is set to appoint pastor and gospel artiste Charles Charamba as the ambassador of police, H-Metro has learnt.
The Fishers of Men boss is expected to sign a memorandum of association with police this morning at the Police General Headquarters.
The move, according to well-placed sources, was reached following Comm-Gen Dr Chihuri’s stance in fighting crime by taking the gospel in all corners of the nation.
“Comm-Gen Chihuri has taken a new direction in fighting crime that besides introducing chaplains in all police stations, he is taking time in teaching and preaching the word of God,” said the source.
“I do not know if Comm-Gen Dr Chihuri attended any Bible College but to be honest with you no pastor or evangelist can stand with him when it comes to teaching the gospel in its context.
“Many pastors manipulate church members by twisting verses and chapters in order to get money but police commissioner general is teaching sound doctrine and proving by linking scriptures in the old and New Testament.
“We were not surprised to hear news that Pastor Charamba and Amai Charamba were chosen to be ambassadors of police and the deal is being rumoured at the PGHQ corridors after the gospel artists were spotted visiting Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba.
“I am not sure if Snr Ass-Comm Charamba is related to Pastor Charamba but what I am sure of is that Commissioner General Chihuri likes messages in their songs and the two are far away from scandals and fit to be ambassadors of a law enforcer ,” said the source.
Contacted for comment, police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the development saying the memorandum of association is to be signed today.
“Police are to sign a memorandum of association with Baba naAmai Charamba on Monday and details will be announced there,” said Snr Ass-Comm Charamba.
