FORMER Zanu-PF youth leader Kudzanayi Chipanga, who is facing charges of making statements undermining public confidence in the military, yesterday appeared in court applying for a variation on reporting conditions.

Through his lawyer, Professor Lovemore Madhuku, Chipanga submitted that he reports once a week at Borrowdale Police station and the rest of the bail conditions remain unchanged.

He also indicated that following his expulsion, he is now a full time farmer and he is required at his Makoni farm which is 170 kilometers out of Harare every day.

Harare magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa remanded the matter to tomorrow for bail ruling.

Chipanga who is out on $500 bail was ordered to report twice a day at Borrowdale Police Station and to reside at the given address until the matter is finalised.

Chipanga was further ordered to surrender travel documents and not to interfere with State witnesses.

Meanwhile, Highfield National Assembly representative Psychology Maziwisa and former ZBC News anchor Oscar Pambuka also appeared in court for routine remand.

The pair is facing allegations of duping the Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) of over $12 000 after claiming to have done publicity work.

They were granted US$300 bail each.

Magistrate Mugwagwa remanded the matter to March 6 as investigations continue.
