PROLIFIC guitarist Progress Chipfumo has hailed the Zim-Kappa Music Festival as one of the best platforms which can assist him in sustaining his popularity in the music industry at both local and international level.
Chipfumo headlined a crew of musicians from Zimbabwe from various genres of music in two gigs which were held in Cape Town and De Doorns – a farming community in the Western Cape.
The musician described the festival as a great platform which has seen him getting another date with South African musicians at Ubuntu Concert to be held on November 25 in Johannesburg.
Speaking to H-Metro, Chipfumo said:
“It was a great experience to be part of the most celebrated jazz musicians in South Africa.
“The festival became one of our first time to meet legends of Afro-jazz genre.
“There are a lot of Zimbabweans living in South Africa and a lot of them follow my music.
“This was an honour to perform in the Cape Town Province and for the upcoming show I am promising a good show for my fans in Johannesburg.
“Such an experience has paved way for my new album “Progress Check” to gain fame in the international scene.”
Chipfumo also highlighted that the music extravaganza pulled over 10 artistes from Zimbabwe which included Pax Gomo, Romeo Gasa, David Hondoyedzomba, Simba Saini, and Baba Harare among others.
This could be Chipfumo’s moment to show the world that like a good wine he is maturing with age, hence, gaining much fame in the international scene.
