EASTERN Region Division One best player for 2017, Anelka Chivandire, has started training with Triangle after concluding a two-year deal.

The former Africa Trust star believes he has taken a huge step in improving his career.

“Triangle are a good side. I am happy to join the team and it is a great achievement to join the league from Division one.

“I joined Triangle United because for a start, I would like to play away from home and add experience in a new environment. It is especially good in terms of progressing in my career and after last season’s success, I really felt I had to make a move,” he said.

After the confidence shown on him by coach Taurai Mangwiro, Chivandire believes he is ready for the big stage.

“I expect to play for exposure and to add more skills to what I have learnt where I am coming from. I have hunger for experience and tactics.

“It is my first time to play in the league but in the past I had numerous opportunities to play in the top flight league but I really felt I was not yet ready,” he said.

The 19-year-old has already received big recognition after being called for the national under 17 and under 20 teams.

And being awarded Best Player in Eastern Region was the endorsement he needed to take another giant step.

“I was happy to receive such an award. It enabled me to get recognition from big clubs. To be chosen among other players’ means a lot.

“I am confident I can play in the league because in football there is no room for fear. I am not easily intimidated and I believe in myself and what we work towards as a team,” said Chivandire.

“I know my work-rate is going to increase because where I am now is no joke. I have to work even harder,

“This is my debut season so I have to work on adapting and focusing on my performance and everything

else will follow as the season unfolds.”
