SOUTH Africa based musician, Reverend Togarepi Chivaviro, has penned a celebratory song as he hopes for a change of fortunes in new Zimbabwe.
Titled Matishamisa, Chivaviro featured South African diva Hlengiwe Mhlaba and the song is due for release anytime soon.
“I have recorded a new song that I think will appeal to the current situation in the country, it’s a celebratory song thanking God for bringing a fresh start,” said Chivaviro from his base in South Africa.
“The song speaks directly to the current mood that every Zimbabwean has now and I am glad as a musician, I am taking this opportunity to add my voice to it.
“I added Hlengiwe Mhlada to the song so that we might also target a bigger audience and her experience in the gospel industry will make the song greater,” he said.
The Ebenezer hit-maker said the song will also feature on his forthcoming album.
“I have already started working on my next album that I named Construction (Kuvaka NaMwari) and I promise fans more great music.
“The song Matishamisa will feature on the new album and we hope our fans across will enjoy it and relate it with the current situation.
“We have also planned to release the video of the song on the same day,” he said.
Chivaviro is currently riding high with his recent releases namely Maranatha and Mhepo Inoperekedza among others.
