DEMBARE, NGEZI SUMMONED
2 November 2017
DYNAMOS and Ngezi Platinum will appear before the PSL disciplinary committee over violence that occurred at Baobab on Saturday.
The referee was forced to stop the match twice after violence erupted, leading to pitch invasion by Dynamos fans.
Ngezi Platinum won the match 2-0 to go top of the Premiership with 60 points.
It was a game DeMbare, who are on 58 points, needed to win at all cost, and reports from Ngezi say the atmosphere was already tense before the match.
This week PSL had indicated that they will issue this statement when they had received all reports required, including the police reports.
“The Premier Soccer league has summoned Dynamos FC and Ngezi Platinum FC to appear before the PSL disciplinary committee following match disturbances that occurred at a Castle Lager Premier Soccer league match featuring the two teams played at Baobab Stadium on Saturday 28 October 2017,” PSL said.
“Both clubs are being charged for breaching order 31 of the PSL rules and regulations. Dynamos FC are being charged for violence and pitch invasion while Ngezi Platinum Stars are being charged for violence and disrupting the normal procedures of the match.
“The Disciplinary proceedings will take place on Thursday 09 November 2017 at Premier Soccer League Offices.”
If found guilty, both clubs could face a heavy fine and a possibility of sanctions.
