RISING contemporary musician Sam Dondo has been given another opportunity to shine after being included on the line up to perform at the Fill Up HICC Concert.

The event, to be held on the New Year’s Eve, targets a full capacity, headlined by Jah Prayzah and Oliver Mtukudzi.

And with Dondo being criticised for failing to rise to the occasion after being introduced into showbiz in style, this comes as an opportunity for the rookie to prove his mettle.

Dondo launched his album, Dyara Munamato, early this year at an event that saw big artistes Tuku, Jah Prayzah, Alick Macheso, Suluman Chimbetu and Peter Moyo becoming a first newcomer to launch an album on such a huge platform.

His album also featured big artistes like Suluman Chimbetu and Jah Prayzah, something that was also expected to propel him.

Some of the songs, however, received rave reviews on local radio stations.

Dondo was expected to launch his second album last month but it has since been moved to end of January next year.

On such a platform, Dondo believes this comes as an opportunity to prove to his fans that he has what it takes to step up the ladder.

“I am happy to be included on such a line up and a big show. It’s an opportunity to continue building my profile as well as taking my new music to the people.

“As far as my debut album is concerned, I am happy,” he said.

The musician along with Mbeu, Tammy, Takura and Nutty O are the upcoming musicians performing at this event expected to usher music lovers into New Year in style.

Some of the crowd’s favourites are Killer T, Freeman, Ex Q, Judgement Yard, Smiley, Godfather Templeman and MC Stansplash.

Star FM 326 Express presenters and listeners;’ favourite Kudzai Violet Gwara (KVG) and Phathisani Sibanda will be the emcees.

“It’s happening this Saturday 31 December; Fill Up HICC with Zimbabwe’s own stars Jah Prayzah and Dr Oliver Mtukudzi, Freeman, Killer T, Ex Q, Judgement Yard, Godfather Templeman, Smiley and MC Stansplash.

“We also have Sam Dondo, Takura, Nutty O and Mbeu,”reads a statement from organisers 2 Kings Entertainment.
