Duo rapes minor (9)
29 January 2018
A Domboshava man has been nabbed for allegedly raping a nine-year-old juvenile.
Sonny Kasukuwere (34) was not asked to plead when he appeared before the Harare magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa charged with rape.
He was denied bail and the case was remanded to February 10.
Allegations are that on January 9 the complainant finished her lessons at Kuwadzana Salvation Army Primary school at 1pm and the commuter omnibus that was supposed to pick them up from school did not come so, with her five friends, she walked to Westgate round about to look for transport.
While at Westgate round about the complainant was called using a hand gesture by Kasukuwere who was driving a black Toyota Noah.
She was dragged into the car and Kasukuwere drove along Lomagundi road and parked besides the road around 800m from Westgate round about.
Kasukuwere grabbed the complainant’s hands while second accused was holding legs and removed her pant.
The first accused raped her while his friend was holding her down.
The friend also took his turn and raped the complainant.
They threatened to kill her if she cried.
The two then dumped the complainant at the scene.
The complainant then walked to Greencroft where she met her father.
As they were going home the father noticed that she could not sit properly and he suspected sexual abuse.
Upon reaching home he asked the mother to examine her resulting in her revealing the matter.
Medical affidavit was produced as evidence in court.
