Ethniq taking Zim fashion beyond borders
27 April 2016
ENTHNIQ Incorporated, a local clothing line started by Tendai “T Nyax†Nyakanyanga is going places.
The clothing label, which started as a hobby some years back when (T Nyax) was still based in Malaysia, grew when he returned to Zimbabwe in 2012.
The clothing line that is dominated by Zimbabwean flag colours is now selling in other countries like South Africa, Canada, UK and Australia where several other Zimbabweans are based.
“I am happy that the clothing line is selling beyond Zimbabwe borders. At the moment, Zimbabweans in the diaspora are the ones that still know about it but it’s now penetrating to other markets.
“It’s a good opportunity and who knows in the next few years this will be an international label. We have been getting a lot of support from Zimbabweans based in the diaspora and we are really grateful for the support.
“Ethniq Incorporated idea is to incorporate ethnicities through fashion,†said T Nyax.
“Whilst I was in Malaysia I was into promoting and I promoted a number of shows with top artistes like 2 Face, Winky D, Awilo, Wizkid and Ice Prince among others, but after coming back home I realised I could continue with promotions.
“I then turned that which was my hobbie to being my profession and from then I have never looked back.â€
Top artistes like Winky D, Soul Jah Love and Roki are also dressed by the clothing line.
The clothing line includes t-shirts, vests, shorts, trousers, jackets, sweaters, accessories and foot wear.
