Former Minister Chidhakwa to challenge remand
5 January 2017
FORMER Minister of Mines and Mining Development Walter Chidhakwa yesterday appeared in court for routine remand.
Chidhakwa, through his lawyer advocate Sylvestre Hashiti, notified the court that he will challenge his placement on remand on January 31 when he is back in court.
Magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa presided over the matter.
Chidhakwa is facing criminal abuse of office charges for allegedly appointing former Mines secretary Francis Gudyanga to run a one-man board for the Mineral Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe.
Chidhakwa is out of custody on $300 bail.
