… Jah Child snatches trophy
THE MUCH-HYPED Ghetto versus Ghetto Clash held at the Glamis Arena on Saturday ended prematurely after chanter Jah Child snatched the trophy and ran away.
Favouritism from the show’s emcee – Smallz – is said to have resulted in the premature end.
The Epworth-based emcee was accused of favouring artistes from his neighbourhood, something which led most participating artistes to complain and cause commotion within the crowd.
Missiles were even thrown on stage for a while during the show as the crowd expressed their dismay.
It is at this time that Jah Child capitalised to snatch and run away with trophy, leaving the clash to prematurely end.
Show promoter, Barbra Chikosi confirmed the news saying the incident will force her to reschedule the clash for another date.
“Yes, it’s true that is what happened and it’s sad because we could not continue with the clash and yet the trophy had been taken.
“Everyone saw him (Jah Child) take the trophy and disappear.
“I am going engage the police so that they can give him a call and return the trophy.
“We apologise to all those that came to witness the clash for such an end to the event but we are planning to hold it on another day.
“Only 20 artistes were now left from the 190 that had registered and these are the ones that we are going to continue with, when we hold the show some time later this year,†she said.
Apart from the sad incident, the show went well and saw various chanters like Soul Jah Love, Kinna, Seh Calaz and Dhadza D putting up commendable performances.
