GONDO TO BOUNCE BACK
11 January 2018
FORMER Dynamos striker Anesu Gondo could make a comeback into the Premiership and he has promised fire-works.
Gondo, who is part of the Footballers Union camp for players without contracts, promised much on his arrival at Dynamos but delivered little after suffering a serious injury.
He was forced to take a break from football after that injury.
“I got injured in 2014, I then had to undergo an operation in 2015. The operation was successful but it took me one year to recover fully and get back into the football pitch.
“I then played in the Swaziland football league in 2016/7, then this year I have decided to come back home and take what is rightfully mine,” Gondo said.
Although Gondo did not reveal his destination, he indicated that he was close to seal a deal.
“I will be joining a PSL team and I think very soon I will be signing a contract.
“FUZ is helping me with the contract negotiations and I don’t think now is the right time to make it official.
“Moreover I have a number of offers, so I am taking my time to put my signature on one of the contracts that I have so far,” he said.
Gondo believes he had a chance to reach the sky back then.
“If it wasn’t for that injury surely I could be somewhere much better today.
“That injury affected my career so much. However, this year I am going to do my best to make sure I claim my position.
“Teams in Swaziland are still asking for my services, but I have opted to come back home and start all over again.
“I wish to be called for the national team. I wish to market my talent to better teams and that can only happen in Zimbabwe,” Gondo said.
