Herentals coach satisfied

COACH Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva was delighted with the performances of his Herentals side in the 2-2 draw with Buildcon of Zambia in a pre-season friendly but highlighted the need to improve on their resistance.
Twice Herentals led and twice Buildcon equalised, a situation Mutiwekuziva reckons took gloss off their performance but at the same time exposing their lack of resistance to guard their own and seal victory.
“A very good performance from the guys, very spirited performance. Looking at how we played the guys showcased themselves very well, very composed, very tactical, very disciplined.
“It’s unfortunate that we drew the team (Buildcon) was always coming from behind. We have got an area where we need to work on much more on resistance when we lead. We just need to be able to resist. Being able to resist that the most important thing.”
With the Premier Soccer League commencing on March 10, it means Mutiwekuziva has little bit of time to rectify the area of concern and be able to win more matches in the domestic circuit.
Mutiwekuziva also hailed Buildcon for giving them match time during their ongoing tour of Zimbabwe. The Herentals gaffer says this practice game puts their preparations at an advanced stage.
“It is giving us a very good reflection for our team in terms of how they might compete with the other Premier League teams.
“This team has also played against Ngezi (Platinum) and they drew so it’s a plus to us which means we can match Ngezi so it’s actually a very good test for the guys.
“It’s a very good preparation and it makes us identify our own areas of concern, our weakness where we need to make adjustments,” he said.
