I can afford only $50 per month

A HARARE man has been dragged to court for failing to pay a debt of $900.
Tracy Gwanzura approached the civil court appealing for help to recover her debt from Simba Tsvangirai which dates back from last year.
“We had a deal with Tsvangirai some time ago but now he is disturbing my peace following his failure to comply with what we had agreed on.
“To date he has only managed to give me only $200 and he is left with a balance of $900.
“I have been visiting his place of residence claiming my outstanding balance but unfortunately nothing comes out.
“The issue has gone out of hand now. I have decided to come with the matter to you your worship to assist me to get the remaining balance,” said Gwanzura.
Tsvangirai told the court that he is aware of the deal and had given Gwanzura $200 with the remaining balance of $900.
“I’m aware of the deal and I’m asking for a payment plan that I can be constantly loyal to.
“These days my business is not even productive so I can afford to pay only $50 per month.
“But if things go well in line with my plans, I will pay more than the figure I have stated above to quicken the debt clearing process,” said Tsvangirai.
Gwanzura disagreed with the appeal saying the amount was too little.
“The balance is long overdue so the amount he is proposing is too little,” she insisted.
Presiding Magistrate Nyasha Marufu ordered Tsvangirai to pay $100 every month.
