IT WAS EASY TO CONVINCE DAVIDO: GINIMBI
13 March 2018
YOUTHFUL entrepreneur and socialite, Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure, says it was easy to convince Davido to visit our shores since the Nigerian takes him for a ‘big brother’ in their circles.
The 33-year-old, who is set to bring the Skelewu singer to Zimbabwe for a one-off show on April 21 at the Harare International Conference Centre, said Davido will be coming two days before the gig dubbed 30 Billion Concert.
In an interview with H-Metro, Ginimbi said Davido’s promotional clip released over the weekend was enough to confirm the forth-coming show.
“It was very easy to convince Davido to confirm the Harare show because he we are good buddies; we hang around together and he meets my standards.
“Of course the previous promoter did his best to bring him to Zimbabwe on many occasions but we decided to step in and use our influence so that Davido comes to Zimbabwe.
“The promotional video he posted weeks before the show confirms the faith he has in me.
“He takes me for a big brother and he assured me that he won’t disappoint Zimbabweans.
“Davido has even apologised for failure to show up and the feedback we have been receiving from his camp is positive.
“I actually hang around with him wangu, Davido ndewangu baba saka hapana chinomukonesa kuuya.
“We have a track record and we have never disappointed before,” said Ginimbi who is out of the country on business.
As Ginimbi steps up preparations with an impressive line-up of supporting acts led by Jah Prayzah, ExQ and Killer T, Ginimbi added:
“We have since finalised our line-up and we are only going to make changes or alternations when there is need to do so.
“We are going to have a different VIP area where guests will be able to have a clear view of the artistes.
“VIP guests will also be able to have a clear view to take pictures of Davido.
“Davido will be hosted by Boitumelo “Boity” Thulo, the South African actress and television personality who is flying all the way Mzanzi.
“As you know, we are trendsetters and we want him to enjoy the Zimbabwean experience when Davido flies to Zimbabwe for this show.
“Our team is busy on the ground to ensure that fans have a show of a lifetime. Fans have been disappointed before but this time around they needs will be met.
“To ensure that we mean business, Davido will come two days before the show and he will hold a press conference where he is going to apologise to Zimbabweans after he failed to show up in three or so occasions he was billed to perform in Zimbabwe.”
