Jah love trial in false start
10 January 2019
THE trial for Zim dancehall artiste, Soul Musaka Muzavazi, failed to start yesterday as his new lawyer sort for a postponement.
Better known by his moniker Soul Jah Love, the Mbare bred chanter is charged with breaching the Civil Aviation regulations.
Musaka, who was granted $200 bail, appeared before Harare magistrate Learnmore Mapiye.
The matter was further postponed to January 21.
The State, led by Owen Safuri, heard that on December 12 last year, Soul Jah Love allegedly forced himself through the screening point at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport after he refused to deflate a ball he was carrying.
Musaka’s previous lawyer is said to be not available so the new representative asked for a postponement stating that he received the State papers yesterday and needed time to go through them.
Magistrate Mapiye told the parties that this was the last postponement of the matter and if the lawyer won’t be available, Musaka will represent himself.
