…finds Baba Harare replacement
MUSICIAN Jah Prayzah has a soft spot for rising star Sam Dondo and the crooner says he can’t wait for their double at 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare, on January 27.
Songbird Ammara Brown is also part of the bill at what promises to be Dondo’s major first show for 2017.
Speaking through his manager Keen Mushapaidze, Jah Prayzah’s camp hailed Dondo for his great artistry.
“Sam is one of the talented artistes we have shared the stage with before; he is hard-working and he no longer resembles an upcoming artiste anymore owing to his creative edge.
“This show is a bit special for him (Dondo) as he unveils his 2017 programme.
“For us, the show is also special as it is one for our major gigs for 2017.
“Of course we held a family show early this month at Jongwe Corner but the 7 Arts show is a bit special,” said Mushapaidze.
“We are also going to unveil Baba Harare’s replacement at this show after auditioning a number of artistes that were recommended by the band.
“At the moment, we can’t reveal the name and we will only do so at 7 Arts on January 27.
“We are pleased with the new replacement we found and we hope fans will fall in love with him.”
In another interview, Dondo who is set to launch his second album next month said:
“I can’t wait to meet and share the stage with my brother Jah Prayzah who has helped me a lot in my career.
“We are more than ready for the show which marks the beginning our new season.
“I will also take the same opportunity to sample some of the new tracks off my forth-coming project.”
“I have also matured a lot after honing my skills under the great tutelage of seasoned artistes who have been it all in the game.
“I urge fans to come and support us, it’s going to be a fun filled day of fun and song at as we begin a new season.”
