. . . happy with album response
. . . Dondo praises singer
MUSICIAN Jah Prayzah has pledged to donate proceeds from his first show after album launch to charity.
The singer feels indebted by the support he got from his fans who packed HICC when he launched his album – Kutonga Kwaro – last Friday.
His manager, Keen Mushapaidze, said they are performing at Extra Mile Leisure Spot this Sunday and part of the takings will be channeled towards helping the needy.
He said they have engaged the Zimbabwe Republic Police who will identify (any) underprivileged community and they will chip in with resources.
“We have an initiative to channel some of the proceeds at our shows to charity. So we want to do that with our first show after the launch and it’s on this Sunday at Extra Mile Leisure Spot,” said Keen.
“We will engage police who will help us in identifying where we can put a helping hand.
“The idea is just to appreciate the support we are getting from our fans, they are our major stakeholders and besides we are people who live in a society and we should be seen doing commendable things.
“So we are again inviting fans to come in their numbers and we really appreciate those who came to HICC,” he said.
Jah Prayzah is also happy with the positive response to the album describing it as the best ever.
“The response is overwhelming and truly speaking this is my first project to get such responses with some from beyond borders,” said Jah Prayzah adding, “However, I will not get carried away. I will continue working hard. My aim is to surpass my previous work and that is what I am promising on my next project.”
Meanwhile, businessman cum music promoter Thompson Dondo has described Jah Prayzah’s album as his best so far.
Dondo who has worked with the 3rd Generation band leader on several occasions described him as a hard worker.
“I think this Jah Prayzah’s best project so far. This album will make him break into the international market further.
“Jah Prayzah is a hard worker, he is different from other musicians and that is why he is successful.
“There is nothing else behind Jah’s success, its hard work. I have worked with that guy on several occasions. He is very humble, fair and determined. I can say he is one of the artists I never had problems with.
“He is not just singing to be a celebrity or earn a living, he has a dream and he has his targets and we are seeing the fruits now. Our music industry would be very productive if other musicians are to emulate Jah Prayzah,” said Dondo.
