18 August 2017
TOMORROW sees the biggest show of the year to date in Gauteng featuring some of Zimbabwe’s finest artists on South African soil.
The show will feature musical granddad Oliver Mtukudzi and will be supported by Gafa Life proponent Winky Dee.
High rising Andy Muridzo from the MTM Studios will complement the heavy line up that has been the talk of the SA cities for a while now.
All roads will lead to the Dries Niemandt Park in Kempton Park which is an open air venue that can accommodate over 5 000 revellers.
According to the organisers of the event Shisaka Entertainment fronted by Tapuwa “TT” Shidzinomwa tickets are running out fast at Computicket which reduces pressure at the entry point. He advised fans to rather purchase tickets online for easier administration at entry points. General tickets are going for R250 while VIP tickets
Dubbed the Kubatana Musical Festival, the show will also expose little known artists such as Darlington Tanganyika who plays jazz and is based in South Africa. Also on the lineup will be comedian Baba Tencen who may have an opportunity to revive his waning career that has seen new entrants coming into the comedy genre.
Meanwhile Shiridzinomwa who also partners with Paddington Watungwa aka Paddy Watts are working on yet another big concert when they host Jamaican dancehall master Beenie Man at The Bassline in Johannesburg on Friday 1 September.
“It has been a hectic period for Shisaka Entertainment over the past month with two such high profile shows in less than a month apart. We are glad we are on top of things in terms of the logistics we are doing well. Fans must expect a good time,” said MC Rico Myers who is part of the team running around with logistics.
Fans to this weekend show are advised to dress warmly as an unexpected cold front from the east coast which is expected to land in Gauteng over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Soul Jah Love and his sidekick Super Yut are expected to perform in central Durban tomorrow as well in a show that features local Durban artist and DJs such as Coolie G, King Numa, Young Hustlers, Triple Entente and Legend Elly.
