A CHEGUTU school’s security is under threat as it lacks security and adequate infrastructure.

Rotview College has no security perimeter such that pupils are exposed to dangers that might occur in the community while some school blocks are in deplorable state.

An administrator from Rotview College Simbarashe Chimombe, said they were incapacitated to ensure that there is proper security wall as well as proper infrastructure for a conducive learning environment for the pupils.

“We have our own difficulties and that is why we have always welcomed any form of help that might come our way.

He hailed Kadoma businessman Zivanai Masevere donated fence worth thousands of dollars while also pledging to assist in the erection of some blocks at the school.

“Mr Masevere was accompanying teams from Kadoma for the Chegutu-Kadoma Inter-district Colleges Football tournament when was touched by the plight of Rotview College where security for the school was under threat with not boundary walls erected. He was touched and pledged to help.

“Mavesere also pledged to assist the school in any way possible while he will spearhead renovation process in a few weeks’ time,” Chimombe said.

Mavesere said he was deeply touched by the plight of the school when he went there.

“I went to support my local teams which competed at the football tournament at Rotview College in Chegutu.

“When I arrived there seeing that there was no security wall and no fence I then donated money worth a wire-fence covering 300mx300m and have since asked them to send the list of everything they want so I can work towards it,” he said.

Chimombe said the good gesture shown by Mavesere last week would go a long way at improving the school’s infrastructure.

“As a school will always be grateful to the gesture by Mr Mavesere, he indeed is a good man and would want to call upon other businessman to invest back in the communities which they comefrom,” he said.
