Kebab wife drops charges
11 January 2017
HARARE businessman Eddie ‘Kebab’ Zviitwa yesterday walked out of court a free man after his wife Kundayi Evelyn dropped assault charges.
Kebab, 45, appeared before Harare magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa facing domestic violence charges.
Evelyn told the court that she was withdrawing the charges freely and voluntarily.
Allegations facing Kebab were that on November 19 this year, he was spotted by his former wife driving her car in the company of a girlfriend.
It is alleged that Kundayi tried to stop him but he refused, forcing her to follow him.
Kundayi is said to have managed to catch up with him when he was stopped at a police road block.
The State represented by Audrey Chogumaira heard that the complainant asked Kebab why he was joy riding with his girlfriend in her car instead of looking after their children well.
It is alleged that Kebab was angered by this, manhandled Kundayi and head butted her on the forehead.
After the assault the complainant lodged a report with the police leading to Kebab’s arrest.
