POPULAR Star FM presenters, KVG and Phathisani are in the United Kingdom for their historic live broadcast.

The 326 Xpress duo, who are accompanied by Star FM general manager Comfort Mbofana, programming manager Napoleon Nyanhi and engineer Weddington Mbozi, were sent off at the airport by several of their fans, Star FM Team Harare as well as some of the station’s presenters.

Partnering Star FM on this historic broadcast are South Africa Airways, British Council and Rayclash Trading.

In an interview just before departure, Phathisani said:

“You have all seen Osuofia in London, now it’s Phathisani in London.”

Star FM general manager Comfort Mbofana said:

“We are happy as a station for this great achievement. Star FM is making history and we want to continue to be exemplary and set trends in Zimbabwe broadcasting.”

The idea behind the broadcast is to thank Star FM diaspora listeners for voting the station the best Zimbabwe Media Company at the Zimbabwe Achievers 2015 Awards held in London last month.

The broadcast that also sees Star FM being the first Zimbabwean station to go overseas to do an outside broadcast has marked the broadcast as part of the Star FM @ 4 celebrations being held the entire month of June.

In the past years, Star FM has done live broadcasts from South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia whilst it has done crossovers from Italy, U.S.A, China, Canada and Italy.

CMG International Media Group is in charge of all the ground work in the UK in preparation for the arrival of the Star FM team.
