LUNGA WAVES GOODBYE
9 July 2018
CHICKEN Inn coach Joey Antipas has indicated that he is pained that left back Devine Lunga played his last game at Rufaro yesterday.
Lunga, who is headed for Golden Arrows, provided the cross that gave Chicken Inn the equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Dynamos at Rufaro yesterday.
“Devine is top notch, he is one of the best left backs in the country. He did a very good job in today’s match, in fact he has been giving an excellent contribution not just in today’s game but all the games,” Antipas said.
“Unfortunately we are going to lose him in a few weeks to come, he will be joining Golden Arrows.
“It is going to be really tough for us to find a perfect replacement for him, but we just have to move on and try and produce another Devine Lunga. I am happy for my boy and I wish him all the best.”
Despite earning a point in the game against Dynamos, the Chicken inn gaffer left Rufaro an unhappy man.
“Our attitude were not all that from kick off. I told my players that they were like models in new outfits, they did not give it the best shot.
“Personally I wasn’t too happy with our performance, I think we should have done better but we struggled with our rhythm.
“We played a bit narrow because we were trying to penetrate down the centre and I think we had tried to put more crosses in that box we could have done better,” he said.
Antipas however, has got so much faith his squad will do better in the last part of the season.
“I cannot really condemn a point considering that this was an away game, I think we still have room to do better and there are more games to come in which we can still perform better,” Antipas said.
