15 December 2017
YADAH FC president and PHD Ministries founder, Prophet Walter Magaya, has promised to do more towards the development of sport in Zimbabwe after receiving an acknowledgment award from the Sport and Recreation Commission.
Prophet Magaya received the award at this year’s edition of the Annual National Sports Awards ceremony held at the Harare International Conference Centre Wednesday night.
SRC acting director general, Joseph Muchechetere, praised Prophet Magaya for his contributions within the Zimbabwean sporting fraternity.
“People like Magaya deserve to be acknowledged.
“We have witnessed him rescuing our senior men football team in many times. He gave the Warriors accommodation at his Yadah Hotel in Waterfalls
“He allowed them to use Yadah Stadium for training. He was very supportive even when the Barcelona legends visited our country,” Muchechetere said.
Prophet Magaya told HMetro that being acknowledged for his good work motivates him and gives him the zeal to even do more towards sport development in Zimbabwe.
“I dedicate this award to God the almighty for he has done it for me.
“I am more than happy to receive this award. Being recognised for your good work is an honour.
“Although this award came a little bit late, I am still very happy to finally be honoured for my contribution towards sports development in our country.
“I started contributing towards sport development in 2014,” Magaya said.
The PHD Ministries added that people should expect more from him in the 2018 sporting season.
“I am not going to stop supporting and helping our local sporting fraternity.
“In fact in 2018 I am going to do even more,” he added.
