MAI TITI IN GOSPEL MUSIC VIDEO
10 August 2017
COMEDIAN Mai Titi’s stake in the arts continues to rise, this time featuring in a gospel music video.
Titled Rangarira, the video is courtesy of gospel musician Gift Mahlupeka featuring budding singer Patience Zvawanda.
The video also features another comedian Aphiri of the Kapfupi fame.
Mai Titi has roots in gospel music, having been a singer and a church leader’s daughter.
Speaking to H-Metro Mahlupeka said he appreciates the art in the comedians that he roped them in to help send the message in the song.
He said the song is directed to all the children and those in the diaspora to remember their parents when they succeed in life.
“This is a song to all the children and all those in the diaspora that they have parents here. Many times you see elderly people struggling to make ends meet but they have successful children. We are saying remember your parents and what they did to you up to the stage you are right now,” he said.
“Patience is a budding singer who I believe is talented and I was happy to work with her. As for Mai Titi and Aphiri no one doubts their creative ideas, they are extremely talented in their comedy business and it was a good experience working with them,” he said.
Mahlupeka has had a number of projects and at one point working with a UK based group.
Albums under his belt include Mukadzi WaPortifa with songs such as Simudzwa naJesu.
Last year he had a project, a compilation with budding singers in the industry and he says he will continue doing so.
