Maintaining form top priority: Samanja
27 June 2018
HARARE City skipper Tendai Samanja acknowledges that they want to play better than they did in the first half of the season.
Harare City are seventh on the PSL log with 28 points.
In an interview with H-Metro yesterday, Samanja said maintaining their current form is their top priority
“We have to come stronger than before because as a team if you have a break the performance will either go down or high depending on how you handle the break.
“For us we have to pull up and work extra hard. We did well in the first half, our top priority is to maintain our form and still remain a dominant side.
“I am happy with the team’s first half performance, points and position,” said Samanja.
“We are on seventh position which is not bad, surviving relegation is our main aim while finishing at a better position will be a bonus.
“We are working on correcting our previous mistakes and also making sure that we maintain our performance.
“We have achieved a lot and it’s great for our team since we are fighting for relegation,” he added.
“The first half was equally tough all the games were the same we had to fight extra hard to achieve a positive result.
“Every game was tough for us, in premier league all the teams are tough.
“You have to pull up your socks to be able to match their play and conquer,” he added.
Samanja views the second half, which is set to resume next week, as the tougher of the two halves.
“The second half is very different from the first half, because some are now playing for relegation while some are fighting for championship.
“This is when the season begins and it’s time to go the extra mile with hard work,” he said.
