Majarira targets 16 PSL goals

HERENTALS striker and captain, Blessing ‘Mbada’ Majarira, has vowed to carry over and even better the form he had in the First Division to the Premier Soccer League where he intends to bang 16 goals on maiden appearance.
Majarira, who was Northern Region Soccer League 2017 Soccer Star and two-time Golden Boot winner, is convinced that he will be the shining star one again in 2018 but this time in the top flight, the Premiership.
“I am targeting 16 goals and it can’t fail. The level I am on and the Premiership we are the same so I don’t think it will fail,” Majarira told H-Metro.
In three professional seasons, Majarira has scored 48 goals for Herentals in the NRSL First Division. Although the Premiership is termed to be a notch ahead of the First Division, Majarira thinks otherwise.
“Some of the players I have played with them in Division and now in the Premiership so there isn’t much of a difference. It’s just that now it (Premiership) is broadcast to the whole world and is wider with more eyes.
“What I was doing (in First Division) if I manage to keep on the standard I think I will even do better.”
Last year, Majarira received a call up to the Warriors for the COSAFA tournament where he scored on debut.
He relishes the moment and is determined to put the hard yards to earn a recall.
“I will work on that so that I get another call up to the Warriors. I will focus on football so that this happens. For the team (Herentals) we have to survive relegation then move on from there,” he said.
