Man caught with leaked exam paper
1 November 2017
AN UNEMPLOYED Mabvuku man yesterday appeared in court after he was found in possession of a Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) English question paper for the November 2017 session.
Victor Tamanikwa, 25, was not asked to plead to the charges of gaining access or revealing contents of an examination as read in the Zimsec Act when he appeared before Harare magistrate Nomsa Sabarauta.
The State led by prosecutor Rufaro Chatora is alleging that on October 27 police detectives received information that the accused was in possession of an extract in his phone gallery of a question paper sat for on October 26.
Further allegations point that detectives proceeded to the accused’s house where they found him with a photo of the English Paper 2 in his gallery leading to his arrest.
Zimsec’s English Subject manager Christopher Kariyo is believed to have brought the original copy of the English Paper 2 exam question paper that had allegedly been leaked by the accused.
Magistrate Sabarauta remanded the accused out of custody on free bail and ordered him to return to court on November 28 for trial.
