Man nabbed for malicious damage to property

A SELF-EMPLOYED Mbare man has been nabbed for damaging his father’s windowpanes.
Justice Murehwa, 30, pleaded guilty when he appeared before Mbare Magistrate Isabel Nyoni charged with malicious damage to property.
The matter was remanded to February 22 for trial.
During cross examination, Justice begged for forgiveness from his father and blamed evil spirits for influencing him.
The State, represented by Sybil Makumborenga, proved that on February 6 at around 9pm, the complainant, Obert Murehwa and his son Justice had a misunderstanding over the use of a vehicle which they bought together.
Justice then told his father that he was going to break his school window panes since he had denied him access to the vehicle.
He went on to break the windowpanes using stones and Obert tried stopping him but he was violently overpowered.
Obert lodged a complaint with the police leading to Justice’s arrest.
