Man steals from lover
3 January 2016
A MAN from Chinamhora was arrested and taken to court after he stole nearly US$5 000 from his lover who had gone to work.
Abraham Taruvinga appeared at the Harare magistrates’ court charged with theft.
He admitted to stealing from Judith Maruta after she left for work at her grocery shop located at Chirodzero Business Centre.
Taruvinga will know his fate when the court sentences him today.
Circumstances leading to his arrest are that on June 27 at around 8am, Judith left her place of residence and went to her grocery shop at Chirodzero Business Centre.
Judith left her lover Abraham sleeping in the bedroom where there was US$4 800.
Abraham took advantage of his lover’s absence and stole the money before disappearing into thin air.
As if that was not enough, Abraham is said to have called Judith and told her that she was not supposed to waste her time searching for the money.
He told her that he had stolen the money and was on his way to South Africa.
Abraham is said to have told Judith that he was leaving the country for ever.
But the thieving lover was arrested days after returning to the country.
He was then taken to the Harare magistrates’ court where he admitted to stealing the money.
Abraham will be sentenced today.
