Man steals wife’s property

A 32-YEAR-OLD man yesterday appeared in court accused of stealing his wife’s money and property.
Garikai Chiunda, 32, pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Harare magistrate Obedience Matare charged with theft.
The accused was denied bail and his trial begins today.
Allegations are that between December 1 and 16 last year, the accused took US$250 and 200 bond and property during the wife Yvonne Madhoro’s absence.
On the second account committed on January 4, the accused unlawfully disposed of one Capri fridge, 3 DVD player, one iron, DStv decoder and some groceries which belonged to the complainant.
The court heard that the accused was refusing to pay back the complainant’s money and to bring back the property.
The complainant lost goods amounting to US$315 and 80 bonds.
