Manuvire celebrating his second goal

RAPHAEL Manuvire and Ronald Chitiyo could all stay at Harare City.

They have contracts ending on December 31 but Harare City were yet to open negotiations.

The club had already indicated that they were focusing more on retaining the players they had rather than bring on board new faces.

Yesterday indications were that the two players could be part of Mkuphali Masuku’s charges challenging for honours in 2017.

“Harare City have not really pinned them down but indications are they are interested and they will move in to try and secure their signatures.

“It has not been a good operating environment for a lot of these Premiership clubs. Although there is a lot of speculation on movement of players, not many clubs are really ready to pay for these players,” said a source close to the players.

Manuvire and Rooney arrived at Harare City at the beginning of this season with much persuasion from former coach Taurai Mangwiro who had coached both players.

At the time Mangwiro was forced to guarantee both that there will be game time as they are viewed to be similar.
