Gospel music lovers are in for a treat this weekend as gospel musician Janet Manyowa launches her second album, Grateful, at the Celebration Centre.

Various local and international artistes are expected to grace the launch and some have already arrived.

Speaking to H-Metro after receiving United States based Zimbabwean gospel artiste Shingisai Suluma at Robert Mugabe International Airport, Janet’s husband, Munyaradzi said some of the international acts are set to arrive on Saturday,

“Dr Tumi, Nqubeko Mbatha and Ntokozo Mbambo will arrive no Saturday before the concert.

“It is going to be an amazing night, as we gather to worship our Maker, and give him glory. There will be lots of surprises no the night and expect top drawer performances from all the artistes,” said Munyarandzi

Pastor Bonnie Deuschle and the Celebration Choir along with Pastor G and Tembalami will also grace the event.

Janet and Shingisai recently released a collabo titled Muchengeti which will be part of the tracks on the new album, Grateful.

Other song on the 11 track album are Zadzisa and Tomutenda Nei. They are already in the public domain and doing well on the local music charts.

Commenting on the title to the album, Munyaradzi said:

“It is the season we are in. God has done so much for us, we have seen his mighty and outstretched arm at work in our lives. We have every reason to come before him with grateful hearts and lifted hands.”

Indeed the Manyowas have lots to be grateful for since Janet’s debut with Amazing God, with Dr Comfort Manyame, in 2014. She has won various local and international awards and has since become a house hold name in regional gospel music circles.

She won NAMA 2018 Outstanding Female Musician, Best Female Artiste at the Permican Awards as well as ZIMA in 2016.

Munyaradzi could neither confirm nor deny reports there are other collaborations on the album with Dr Tumi as well as the Nqubeko and Ntokozo.

“I can’t say. Watch the space,” he said.

The album was produced by renowned South Africa based Zimbabwean, Andrew Baird of Arangotango Music.

Tickets for the show are being sold at Innovative Technologies Eastgate, Crystal Gates Bookshop Westgate, Worldwide Bookshop and Dusk Home Stores.

The concert will be hosted at the Celebration Centre on Saturday starting at 4pm.
