MAWIWI RESPECTS CAPS
20 September 2017
BIGBOY Mawiwi watched CAPS United floor Dynamos 1-0 at Rufaro on Sunday and concluded that they have a tough challenge ahead of them.
The Hwange coach was at Rufaro as he tried to take some notes ahead of CAPS United’s visit to the Colliery on Thursday.
“There is no doubt from what I saw that CAPS United are a formidable side and they have players that can play in any team in the Premiership.
“And that explains why they are the champions. They have a balanced side and we have to be at our very best to come out with a result,” Mawiwi told H-Metro.
CAPS United have shown they are still a force to reckon with.
It didn’t matter they missed Carlton Munzambwa and Valentine Musarurwa.
They were still able to brush aside DeMbare in spectacular fashion on a day the Green Machine could have scored more.
“I’m hoping that the players will be motivated by the very fact that these are the champions.
“Everyone wants to play the champions and we have an important mission to try and make sure that we win our remaining matches to survive relegation. We know what is expected from us,” Mawiwi said.
While Hwange are fighting relegation, CAPS United are hoping that they can end the year on a high.
At this stage last year CAPS United had 44 points and were on course for the league title. This season after 23 games, they are on 35 points, 11 points poorer.
With four more extra games this year after an additional two teams into PSL, CAPS United have a chance to force a miracle.
After elimination from the Chibuku Super Cup, Hwange will be hoping to avoid disappointment at home.
“We have a number of injuries but I’m sure we will be able to come up with a squad that can really give us a result. We are ready for this battle,” Mawiwi said.
