DYNAMOS’ clash with Augustine Mbara’s Black Rhinos at Rufaro tomorrow is another reminder of how the Glamour Boys have given a raw deal to their former players in recent years.
When the former DeMbare captain left for South Africa, he clashed with the club over sign on fees and bonuses that he was owed.
It seemed the club was just glad to see his back without paying him anything, making it difficult for the player to consider rejoining them when he decided to revive his career this season.
The player’s manager Gibson Mahachi yesterday said he was not at liberty to comment on the issue.
“I will not comment,” he said.
Mbara could join a list of former players like Tichaona Chipunza, who joined Ngezi Platinum after similar circumstances, and then punished them.
A source close to Mbara said he loves the club but after what happened, it was impossible to even reconsider joining.
“When he left after the expiry of his contract, he was owed money. Yet, they treated him as if he had betrayed the club.
“It was not easy for him, he has put that behind him and hence the decision to join Black Rhinos instead,” said the source.
