Minister Bimha alive, in China
13 July 2018
MINISTER of Industry, Commerce and Enterprise Development, Mike Bimha has scoffed at reports circulating on social media that he had died in a road traffic accident in Chegutu.
Speaking from China where he had travelled on a government business, Minister Bimha said he got to know about the rumour from friends and relatives who were calling him to check.
“I could hardly sleep last night as my phone was inundated with calls from people asking whether I was alive that I had died in a serious accident in Chegutu.
“Some reports indicated that I had died on the spot; some of the calls came as far as Republic of South Africa, Botswana and the United Kingdom,” he said.
Min Bimha said it was his cousin, who was killed in the accident.
“As it turned out, it’s true there was a fatal accident in Chegutu which claimed the life of my cousin, Simbarashe Bimha who resided in Chegutu.
“May his soul rest in peace. In fact last Saturday when the accident occurred, I attended a ZANU PF youth rally in Chivhu which I had to leave midway as I was rushing to the airport on my way to Guanzhou, China on business,” he added.
