Miss World Zim leads in group
4 December 2018
REIGNING Miss World Zimbabwe queen, Belinda Potts, was nominated as Best Personality during preliminary competitions of the Miss World pageant being held in Sonya, China.
The 21-year-old was selected through social media votes in the pageant’s group seven where she is competing with three other beauties from Chile, Botswana and Japan.
“I would like to thank you all so much for being a supportive pillar towards my reign as the current Miss World Zimbabwe and
at the toughest level of the Miss World beauty pageant.
“I am proud to be nominated Best Personality so far with the leading votes on my head to head challenge group seven; now proceeding to the second level.
“May God keep blessing you all and may he grant success to Zimbabwe through the Miss World pageant,” she said.
Belinda also urged locals to keep on voting for her as it would not only benefit her but the nation as a whole.
“I am kindly asking you to keep voting for me for the Miss World 2018 competition.
“Do it for Zimbabwe; thank you in advance and be blessed,” she wrote.
Miss World Zimbabwe Trust committee member Tendai Chirau urged the public to vote for Belinda.
“I know there are a lot of people who are wishing Belinda to bring the crown back home.
“However, I have observed that we sometimes get reluctant in our contribution to it.
“When pageants open voting platforms for the general public, we should never take that for granted because they meaningfully contribute in one’s winning of the crown.
“The reigning Miss World, Manushi Chhillar also led on the voting platform on social media so I am calling upon everyone to vote for Belinda since she is actually representing all of us,” he said.
The finals of the main pageant are set to be held on December 8.
Potts will be contesting along 120 beauties representing different countries in the world.
