Negligent driving delays traffic

More than 20 people yesterday cheated death along Seke Road flyover failed to make its way through the flyover and overturned in the process.
The Yebinga Transport truck (registered ACE0261) overturned yesterday morning, disrupting the flow of traffic during the rush hour.
Truck driver, Tafirenyika Murienda misjudged the height of his truck which resulted in an accident.
The accident did not only injure passengers but delayed people who were getting into the CBD.
The owner of Yebinga Transport was quick to arrive on the scene to assess the severity of the accident.
“The driver was going to fix the tyre at National Tyres which is along Seke Road but unfortunately he did not see that the vehicle was too high,” he said.
The truck driver Murienda apologised for the accident “I never thought the truck was higher than the flyover.
“I just wanted to fix my tyre but it turned the other way; it’s so unfortunate that the accident occurred which resulted in delays and injuries to some people,” he said.
One of the eyewitnesses, a Kombi driver driving a commuter omnibus (registration number AEG2069) from Chitungwiza-City Cherechedzai Chinomona said:
“I was coming from Chitungwiza and the truck overturned and I can confirm that there no serious injuries.
“It must have been a serious thing but I am glad that we didn’t pick serious injuries.
“There was also another small car which was in front of us which was also involved.”
Police details were very quick to attend the scene and gave assistance and controlled the traffic to avoid another accident.
