Newlyweds haunted by debts

After throwing a lavish wedding in December last year, a newly wedded couple revealed they are now being haunted by people they owe money for wedding expenses.
Martha Mutarinhi said she and her husband are being trailed by people they owe some money.
“It is true that there are people we owe some money who assisted us in organising our wedding and one of them being our emcee Tendai Maduwa.
“We are having sleepless nights from people asking us for their money but we are making efforts to give them the money.
“Everything was on point during our wedding but we were hoping to pay off some of the people we owed.
“Sadly, we did not receive enough money to pay everyone,” she said.
Meanwhile, one of the men the couple owed money Tendai Maduwa said the newlyweds were not making efforts to give him his money.
“I feel so betrayed by this couple considering the efforts I put in making their marriage a success.
“I did not only emcee their wedding but I arranged a lot of things from the time that the husband came to pay lobola up to the day that they wedded.
“I now seem to be bothering them each time I call asking for my money, they always make excuses promising that they would pay,” he said.
Apart from other things he did, Tendai said he had also assisted Martha in being her go between.
“The relatives of the woman did not even come for the wedding, only her mother and cousin were there.
She asked me to be her go between and I accepted but it is shocking that she is now telling me down like this.
“All I want from them is the money I had charged them for being an emcee, and I don’t think is too much to ask for considering everything I did for them,” he said.
