Several chanters will have an opportunity to showcase their talent when the “Dancehall Open Mic Sessions” officially come to life at Downtown night club at Machipisa Shopping Complex in Highfield.

The sessions, which are open to all dancehall artistes, are hosted by Fyah Lynx dancehall sound on Wednesday.

Also happening on the night is a talent deejay search open to deejays that would like to spin the decks.

“Over the last month we have had an overwhelming number of deejays and artistes approach us asking for a platform to showcase their talent that’s why we decided to start the open mic and deejay talent search.

“This is going to be happening every Wednesday; the launch is on tomorrow (tonight).

“All those that want to showcase their talent should come to the venue its free entry,” said Mighty Simpletaan the organiser of the event.

He added:

“We are going to be working closely with artistes and deejays that we would have seen have the talent and will rope them in for some of our big shows and give them that chance to perform on that bigger platform.”

The last popular venue to host open mic sessions was the then Book Café along Samora Machel.

The sessions died when the venue closed down a few years ago.
