HARARE City coach Philani Ncube believes they did all they could against champions FC Platinum in Saturday’s Challenge Cup but it was not our day.

The Sunshine Boys were beaten 2-1 at Mandava on Saturday to end what has been a disappointing season for them.

“They dominated in the first half but we still had chances to win the game.

“In the second half we played very well but it was very unfortunate that we conceded a very easy goal. We tried to get an equaliser but still it was not our day,” said Philani.

Despite winning the Chibuku Super Cup, Harare City have to accept the reality that they have also been relegated.

“In football a lot of things happen. You have to accept it unless if you are not a football person. This happens,” he said.

The developments come at a time when they are yet to finalise on whether they will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup or not.
